hello all my first post here... ive been searching through the forms and havent found anything that really worked for me... my HD fried the other day and im stuck using a 2gb and a 345mb as a slave... ive only been using linux for about 3 months... i have Damn small linux 0.4.3 installed to the hd and i am trying to get my nvidia drivers installed, it says i need the kernel headers i tried using apt-get install kernel-headers-2.4.20-xfs and it says its no longer there.... ive tried recompiling my kernel from some of the posts in this fourm with no luck.... what i would like to know is if there is an easy way to get my nvidia drivers installed without upgrading my kernel, and if not could you please provide me with step by step to upgrade.... thank you in advance for your help

check out this one :

http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4016#20455

contains install script for nvidia (and it WORKS !!!!)
I think using it from a local disk shouldn't be too hard to adapt the script.
