there is a post on the kurumin website that using their remaster script one will be able to remaster it to create an all english version. There is not a lot of instructions on the site and unfortunatly the remaster script is all in portuges (sp?).
I was also not sure weather or not the files have to be copied (installed) on hd first and/or the
kde english language package installed too.
I was hoping someone had already made one and/or somone could translate the screens to tell me what its saying.

I would appreciate the help. here's two pages I've seen but I didn't want to go further

- Remasterizar-kurumin

Kurumin.

================================================== ================================================== =========================================

O script cria as pastas knxsource e knxmaster dentro da pasta
exmplo: /mnt/hda2/knxmaster e /mnt/hda2/knxsource

CD-R no drive :-)

Kurumin, a /dev/hda6. Você pode usar qualquer partição Linux,
formatada em ext2, ext3 ou reiserfs.Esta partição deve ter pelo
menos 1,5 GB livres.

The translation you asked is something like (free translation!):

-Remastering-kurumin

This script tries to make easy the remastering of Kurumin.

It is composed by the scripsts k-extract, k-rebuild, k-open and k-close, which I have developed for my own use, but turned to be used by others as the Kurumin turned to be popular.

The procedure of remastering is described in the second half of the Kurumin manual, which follows.

This scripts is designed to ones that knows what they are doing. If you didn't read the manual (or didn't understand it) it better to press CTRL+C.
===========================================

The script creates the folders knxsource and knxmaster inside the folder where the partition mounted to the remastering process. For example:
/mnt/hda2/knxmaster e /mnt/hda2/knxsource

At the end a kurumin.iso file is generated in the same directory and it will imediately recorded in case a CD-R is inside the cdrw driver.

I use a separeted partition for Kurumin files (/dev/hda6). You can choose any partition you want (ext2, ext3 or reiserfs). It should have at leat 1.5Gb free.

Windows formated partitions are not allowed, since they don't support symbolic links and some additional features required.

You can repartitionate your HD with qtparted or cfdisk.

----

I didn't take much care with my english. I hope it was enough for you.

Best wishes.
Ricardo.

I appreciate the translation, it was appreciated. Was this a translation website that you used or do you know portugues?
the reason why I ask is that I might need some more translations to get things working and I hesitate to ask you over and over what each screen is and take up that space here on www.knoppix.net
(but at least in that case someone else could follow the topic to get their own kurumin remaster)
If you don't mind me asking just reply to this message and if you do. I understand completely.
Much appreciated

thanks for the link. but will this translate text that I enter into a form submission? cause I cannot find any information on the remaster procedure on kurumin's website (I could have missed that part, please send links) I can only see the part about "apt-get [kde language pack-english] and "remasterizar-kurumin". If the process is documented in his/her native language I missed the link for it on the site. That text was more or less a screenshot of the first two screens of the remaster process. I would need a low cost translation from portuguese by typing or this case pasting the words into a field.
