has anyone ever put out a clean base image, of Knoppix with the same great autodetection and a base Linux system with mini X (like with openbox or twm)?

leaving the rest of the base / clean of kde and gnome and other stuff?

mostly i am having a hell of a time removing and injecting programs and files, trying to customize an iso image.

There is something called "Model K" in one of the other areas here that is just that but minus the X Window system.

Modularity's Model K is the smallest of the Knoppix Mini-CDs. Weighing in at only 32Megs for version 0.5.2. The next project is going to be a mini-X11 CD with only the basic X-windows (+NVidia drivers).
