Ok today i encountered another prob with Knoppix:
I have noticed that during bootup knoppix doesnt display the correct amount of system RAM instead of 262144 kb that i get form bios on startup, knopix says: "total memory found 256532 kb"....
So i tried to make it recognize 256mb with knoppix mem=256M at bootup :mrgreen: .... and after few seconds it displayed a following error meesage:
initrd extends beyond end of memory (0xfff5db4 > 0xfff0000)
Kernel panic : VFS : unable to mount root fs on 01:01
and after that i had to pull the plug....
Why does this happen? what happened to cca 5 megs of my ram? is there a way to fix this?
PS. i use knoppix 3.1, if that matters
