Booting to knoppix

Hey I have a special distro of knoppix called the std or security tools distrobution and before i had a nvidia GeForce4 MX 420 but it died so i had to use my on-board graphics which are a plain 32mb vga graphics. I gte tot he point to where the desktop should show up but at that time the screen shuts off. Any tips?

How about a hint as to what kind of onboard video you have? What chipset? What does lspci -v tell you?

--You should boot into ' knoppix 2 ' to get a working command prompt where you can enter this.

--You also should be able to boot: ' fb800x600 ' or ' fb1024x768 ' if your monitor supports it.

Sure, I have S3 PRO SavageDDR it uses an S3PROSavageDDR chip type, and an S3 DAC DAC type. That's all i know how to find.
