hello,

do you know any knoppix customization that supports terminal server ? (which allow PXE client boot via network)

i plan to install knoppix via network, but prefer the customization that is smaller (knoppix now is way too bloated for me!)

many thanks

sure, but as i said, all knoppix versions are too bloated now

as far as i know, no customization provides network boot service (pxe)

Hey nhoxanh,
Have you looked at Pilot Linux?( http://www.pilotlinux.nl/ ) It's based on Knoppix and when it boots from the CD it autodetects your NIC, and then ASKS YOU for the name (IP address) of your terminal server. It works beautifully!

Knoppix comed with a great program called rdesktop which is a windows terminal server client similar to remote desktop. from a shell, type rdesktop servername
or
rdesktop -f servername for fullscreen mode

It works beautifully

What exactly is rdesktop? Does it only work with win clients?

OK, I got what rdesktop does. I need terminal server to run off an HDD install. Is that possible?

TIA,
