Hi. I have a Linksys WPC11 (Orinoco chipset(*)) Instant Wireless PCMCIA card in my laptop. Is there any driver for the Orinoco chipset in Knoppix 3.2?

The following cards are known to work in at least one actual system...
... [orinoco_cs driver] [x86,axp,ppc,smp]
[ this driver supports multiple chipsets and some features may
not be supported for all cards ]

At this time, I can answer my own question: No, there is no support for the Orinoco chipset in Knoppix 3.2 and I have to look for another Linux distro that support my WLAN PCMCIA WPC11 Linksys card. That is sad because I like Knoppix very well.

Case closed.

Case reopened.

Did you try searching on this at all on the knoppix.net site? I put in a search for wpc11 and got back several links indicating that people are using this card with Knoppix.

Also, this card should work with prism2 i believe. From what I could glean on other posts about this card, it looks like the orinoco driver is needed only if you are using apps like airsnort and kismet. A patched orinoco is required for this, but according to this (http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2132#9959) post the latest knoppix already has the patched driver.
