My Configuration:
Asus A7V333 (FSB @ 142Mhz) (Via KT333, USB2.0, UDMA 5)
AMD XP 2100+
Ati Radeon 9700 Pro
512 MB DDR
SB Audigy

When I try to boot Knoppix with the "knoppix" command it hangs right after processor detection. I solved this with the nousb command line option and now it boots fine untill the hardware autoconfigure (which is the next step :( ).

When I boot with: knoppix nousb it just hangs after going a few twirls with the cursor.

OK then I tried booting with: knoppix nousb nodma result:

hangs at the exact same point but with a message:

"Modprobe: can't locate module block-major-2"

I just don't know anymore... :(

I get the "modprobe: Can't locate block-major-2" message too...
After that though, it went on booting straight into KDE.

Someone on the forum suggested that it has to do with having no floppy-drive and indeed, I don't have one.. 8)
But I personally think it has to do with chipset, as I got the rather new ASRock K7S8X (SiS746FX chipset).
Before, I used to have a SiS735 chipset and everything went just fine, including DHCP on the SiS900 Ethernet, which now doesn't work (even after putting a nameserver in resolv.conf) :(
I have to start with cheatcode "nosmp", 'cause otherwise it will hang on the message "error: only one processor found" :?:

Hopefully (for the rest of you, that is) it's just my specific hardware.
I used to LOVE playing around with Knoppix, but now, I just need to get things (Ethernet, error-messages) to work...
Thanx in advance for anyone helping out.
