View Full Version : What goes into Knoppix?

I have found a couple of package lists on the Knoppix mailing list, but they are old.
There is a 1.5 year old idea of "Koppix-creator", w/o follow-up, but it has code with it: it uses debootstrap and then adds 20 knoppix packages: at that time debootstrap did not work, but it isn't really necessary.
Then there is http://developer.linuxtag.net/knoppix/ which has packages.
Does anyone know what the Knoppix packages are that go into building a Knoppix CD?
Has anyone tried building a Knoppix CD from scratch? There are lots of ways to build a Debian system, but what is the Knoppix part?
That way you get exactly what you want: your own Debian system that you build and the Knoppix hardware analysis, cloop, scripts part.
You'd have to follow the current thread on creating a Knoppix CD from a HD install. But bongski55 did a HD install and modified that: not the same as what I am asking.
If you look at the installed packages of the Knoppix CD there are a bunch of knoppix packages. Has anyone analyzed that? Did Morphix do that to build the Morphix iso's? Or did that come from a HD install too?

Hugo.
