This is the first time i've attempted to use a linux os and need some help on booting up.

When the cd runs on startup it takes me to a black screen with boot at the bottom left corner.
What do i do to get past this part??

Current System Details:
OS: Windows XP pro
Drive's partitioned in NTFS

would my system info be a reason its not starting up?

Nothing- it should eventually boot itself or you can hit <enter>

Sure your system could have everything to do with it but not your OS. We're talking hardware here. Hit F2 at the boot prompt to get a list of all the parameters you can pass the linux kernel on boot to help Knoppix detect your hardware appropriately. The cheat codes (as they are called) can also be found here (http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/CheatCodes).

I would however recommend that you remove XP just to be on the safe side. ;)

Ok I'm just kidding (not really). Oh and that's an interesting choice of names you have there.

:) Too much time on your hands as it were eh?
