when burning iso image using nero I am prompted that the block size does not correspond to the image length. Burning process proceeds OK but when booting from CD lots of cloop errors and halt on initialize. Help newbie!

This sounds like your Knoppix .iso file is corrupt or damaged. I could you wrong, but that's what happened to me with a Suse live Eval 8.2 download. The file is the correct size, but corrupt (which, because of that possibility, is why we have MD5 Check Sums).

I don't know how to do it in NEro, but you should be able to search for that. Basically, you'll get a program to take a good look at the file and tell you the file's MD5Sum. Then you compare that to the MD5Sum of the exact knoppix file you downloaded (which you can get from the Knoppix mirrors) and see if they match. If they don't, you should delete the file and download again.
