Hi!

Knoppix 3.3 freezes completely while starting KDE. The mouse stops while ksplash says it's initializing the hardware (3rd icon blinking). It's exactly the same when I start Knoppix 3.3 from harddisc.

What can I do about it?

Give use some details on your hardware and we might be able to help. When booting from the CD did you use any cheat codes (http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/CheatCodes)?

Its a normal PC, it runs SuSE-Linux and KDE with no problems. (AthlonXP-2000, Asus-a7n-266, 768MB DDR, GeForce2mx-200, Reaktek 8139 NIC, optical Logitec USB Mouse, bttv-Card (no name), Pioneer DVD, Aopen CD-R, DawiControl SCSI-Adapter...)

When booting from the CD did you use any cheat codes (http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/CheatCodes)?

I gave acpi=off and noapic a try to solve the problem, but not more.

Donalbain.

Try knoppix xmodule=nv xvrefresh=60 noscsi for the cheat codes you may want to thrown in a few more of the no options as well and you should try just failsafe alone to boot with minimal hardware detection or knoppix 2 to boot too the terminal.
