it can't see my modem...

i wanted to connect but it says it can't detect a working ethernet card, networking card or modem, but when i return to windows it works fine...

Many pci modems are software controlled winmodems, some of which can be made to work with linux some can't, also some newer pci modems that are hardware modems use non-standard serial ports, what kind of chipset does your modem use, and what serial port is it on in windows. then we can go from there.
