Hi,

When I attempt to install kweather (a kde panel applet), it fails saying it needs kdelibs3 >= 4:2.2.2-1, and kdebase-libs.

If I add kdelibs3 to my apt-get install line, it tells me it is going to remove a bunch of kde applications and libraries. The ones it is removing all seem to be version (4:3.1.3-1). Is there not a kweather for the version of KDE that Knoppix 3.3 uses?

Why is this? My sources list is the default one from the HD install, with the addition of:

deb http://www.devnull.be/debian woody main

deb http://www.backports.org/debian stable all

Any ideas what's going on?

Thanks,

Nate

hi,

it looks like your system is stable (woody) with some kde from the unstable tree (kde 3.1.x). unfortunatly you are trying to install a package (kweather) from the stable tree (at present kde 2.x is in the stable tree).

if you want to install kweather, you have to install it from the unstable tree. the following worked at with my knoppix (3.2, 2003-9-5):

apt-get install -t unstable kweather
