Box: A7N8X Deluxe, 512 Corsair, IBM 30Gig HD (blank).

Had been running from HD with no problem until reboot. Upon rebooting the floppy drive started clicking and this was displayed: L 02 02 02 02 02
etc.
Now wont boot without that happening so I burned new cd's from multiple sites and did multiple reinstalls after formatting and repartitioning. Same thing happens. Everything works fine off of the WD HD running Win2k. The box runs fine when booting off of the Knopper cd's (all of them).

What Gives????? :(

Your MBR gives. It is corrupted.

You need to use some boot loader grub, lilo (or even fdisk -flags in windows rescue mode) to rewrite the MBR.

With lilo or grub, make sure the config files are setup (/etc/lilo.conf or /etc/grub.conf) and run either lilo or grub-install, and this will rewrite or write a new boot loader to your MBR.

Had to use a dos install to access the drive to format it. I've got knoppix installed on HD now and working. Though now I've got issues for other posts.
TNX again :D
