how do i get root privilages so i can configure my sound card i have a sound blaster live and would anyone know a program so i can use like msn messenger, i was using amsn b4 n it worked fine but now it keeps telling me it cant connect to server does any1 no a different program i could try

in the knoppix-menu there is a root-console.
