Welcome sfit and associates,

There are many ways to use KNOPPIX.

1) Boot from CD, learn how thing work, shut it off and lose
all your work.

2) Boot from CD, work, save some files to a floppy, but lose
your settings.

2) Boot from CD, save settings to a configuration file:
K --> KNOPPIX --> Configure --> Save KNOPPIX configuration
--> OK --> select directory
This saves settings and with a proper cheat code on the boot
file will restore the setting when you boot again.

3) Boot form CD, save all your work in /home/knoppix and
most settings are saved:
K --> KNOPPIX --> Configure --> Create a persistent KNOPPIX home
--> Yes --> select partition --> (DON'T PICK YES UNLESS YOU
ARE SURE YOU WANT TO ERASE THE WHOLE PARTITON)
Besides drive partitions, you can save your work and settings
to a USB Memory stick.

4) Do a KNOPPIX Install -- with the KNOPPIX/KNOPPIX file on
the hard drive.

5) Do a hard drive install to give you a Dabian instalation on
you hard drive.

I hope this will get you the big picture -- read the Docs and
when you get good, help make the Docs better for others. :lol:

Best Wishes
