This newbie has two more questions for the experts....

I have installed Knoppix on my hard drive, and I will be dual booting with XP.

I have no sound? I belive that I'm running a Creative Soundblaster PCI? What can I do to make it work?

Next, I've seen the instructions for installing AIM on Linux OS at www.aim.com. Which one do we use for Knoppix and how do you install it and use AIM? Very confusing....

Thanks!

Your soundcard should have been detected automatically, but try the program "sndconfig" and see if that gets it.

As for AIM, nobody uses the aol version of AIM for linux. There is a program called "gaim" that everyone uses. It has hundreds of more features than AIM from AOL and it also supports MSN and Yahoo and others all with the same program. It comes with knoppix also, just type "gaim".
