i cant change resolution! it aways loads 640x480!!

i cant change te resolution!
i tried everything i could!

like edit the lilo.conf
cconfigure the kxconfig and saved

but it always come in 640x480!!!

whats shoulbe be??

hardware:
pentium 133mhz(overclock to 150mhz)
64mb ram
video is the old trident 1 mb
monitor is samsung syncmaster 3ne!

help me PLEASE!!!

If you boot from cd, you can try the cheatcode: knoppix screen=800x600
If you boot from lilo, you can add screen=800x600 as an append in lilo.

i already tried this..

i am not booting from cd

i think this graphic board (trident 1mb) does not support 800x600 with knoppix hd installed!

if someone knows how to get it running 800x600 PLEASE post it here!

I have a Samsung Sync Master 3 monitor too, you try this parameter:
knoppix screen=800x600 vsync=60.

for some laptops, you need to add noddc to the knoppix startup

knoppix screen=800x600 noddc

My toshiba needs that for knoppix 3.3 and up.

ddc tries to do an autodetect on the monitor, and when it finds something it doesn't recognize, it defaults the video to 640x480 which looks like crap on higher res monitors.

Since you did the hard disk install, you'll need to edit lilo or grub to add these modifiers to the bootup.
