saving volume settings

HI

I'm new to Knoppix, and I've figured out how to save settings and use a persistent home directory on a zip disk...but is there a way to save the volume/mixer settings?

I have a very low volume after booting up, can change it using kmix, but it goes back down upon rebooting.

ANyone know?
