Booting Knoppix 22.09.2003 on Athlon anf KM266

Hello,

On my computer Knoppix starts fine.
On my friend computer, at boot time, the screen became blue and appear boot:
line 1 ....
line 2 ....
and after that the screen became black and stops.
My friend has an Athlon 1800 XP, MB Asus with KM266, 512 MB SDRAM, video card Pro Savage with 64 MB shared, 40 GB HDD Quantum, 17'' monitor.
Could anybody help ?

Check out the BIOS settings.
There must be a place where you can specify the allocated memory for the onboard video. Set this as high as possible.
If it still doesn't work juggle around with the ACPI modes,disabling-enabling plug-and-play support .
