When you put the Knoppix disc in while running windows, it starts up a web page, but does so with a small script that produces a rather ugly DOS-console for a second. At theopencd.org, we had a similar need, and so we created a slightly more elegant start-spash program:
http://www.chaingang.org/code/SplashStart/SplashStart.html

Also see the description/discussion in our forum (http://theopencd.sunsite.dk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=262).

Nice! I once suggested something similar (http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.debian.knoppix/1006) on the knoppix dev list, with no reaction to this day.
It's a simpler thingie, not supporting any startup graph but just getting rid of the Dos box.
The autorun.inf file format is documented here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/shellcc/platform/shell/programmersguide/shell_basics/shell_basics_extending/autorun/autoplay_cmds.asp). Yes, that's a microsoft link ;-)

man, mr. knopper, just doesn't know how to use windows, the only operating system that he have worked with is linux, so he is not interested in any windows stuff, and it is fine with me, he doesn't need to write an autorun inf.

Yes, but as mr. Knopper is leading a project that is interesting for many windows user and so helpful in Linux-advocacy, a clean way to open the webpage can be found.
Moreover if this way was already experimented and some Knoppix user is offering his help in improving this.
