Writable data on the Knoppix?

I found if I add some software or data directoris. Their configure files can not be changed because they are in a read-only file-system (under dir /KNOPPIX).
How to KNOPPIX move some files to RAM when it starts?

One easy way is to place the file/dir on your desktop and use the knoppix saveconfig.
After reboot they will be back at the Desktop

But the files may very large than the floppy size and I also dont like to use hd-space.
