Lets get one thing Striaght... Im a linux newb..... So dont laugh ....im learning here!
Used nero 6 to burn the iso. ...Done
Boot the CD
this is all i get
syslinux (debian 2003 06 06 )
and a blinking prompt .
at this..... nothing. if i type a command. it retypes the command and simply does nothing.
What am i doing wrong?
BTW . im currently running an xp box with a clean xp install.

The common things to try:
First, after you download the iso image, check it using md5sum. A detailed description of how to do it is here:

Second, make sure you burn the iso as an image, be sure not to burn a data disk with an iso file on it. You can see that here:

Third, make sure you set up the BIOS to boot from the CD. Insert the CD and reboot. It shouldn't matter what OS you have installed on your computer. In fact, Knoppix will work without a hard drive. If it still doesn't work, there may be a hardware incompatability problem, but knoppix works on almost anything.

ok i followed the prev post, and got it to boot once.
Here are some issues
3 out of 5 times "boot failed"
when i do get to the boot screen..
i type "knoppix"
screen goes blank thats it.
I once recieved the error : No signiture file found.
Help?
