Is it possible to install a small edition of Knoppix that is less than the required 2200 MB? The ideal solution would be KDE and rdesktop, like a kiosk.

Have you seen Morphix?

http://morphix.sourceforge.net/modules/news/

You should be able to create what you want.
The light-gui version (~210mb iso) uses XFCE4 rather than KDE

horse: I tried installing the KDE Morphix distro for several days and it keeps quitting without an error description. Very disappointing. Morphix is also veeery slow, like pressing the numlock key sometimes takes a second or two to react.

The test computer is a Pentium 200 MMX with 32 MB RAM.

Lame_Duck: If Morphix isn't finished installing by tomorrow then I'll try Kurumin.
