View Full Version : How do I get drivers for my nvidia card that don't suck?

The "nv" driver that I'm currently using is so bad that my GeForce4 TI4200, 128MB card lags horribly just trying to render png alpha transparency on some websites (such as my own).

I recently read that nvidia released new drivers and such but I'm no good at finding config files and editing them. Can anyone here help me figure out what to do? Maybe apt-get update nvidia? :D

I couldn't get that to work. :(

I copied the knoppix.sh and the nvidia.tbz to my home directory and booted the livecd and properly executed the script but it didn't work.

It's because the debian site is down I think...I tried it and saw the same error. But it's probably for the best, as you can get the latest driver installed if you go direct to Kano's script page here (http://kano.mipooh.net) and look for the install-nvidia scripts. I ran the latest one last night with no problems. :)
