Hello!

Does anyone out there have a Minitar wireless NIC (802.11b) running happily in Knoppix?

I have the 09-24-03 release of Knoppix, usually boot it from CD, the wireless config utility does not detect at all. I have had a look at the specifcations at the the manufacturer's website - http://www.minitar.com/index.php?maincat=product&cat=wireless&prod=wls_pci&page=3 - does not mention what chipset (Prism2, etc.) the card is using.

There is a RedHat driver available for the card, would this work in Knoppix (probably a stupid question to all you Linux veterans, I'm a little new to Linux)?

Doe anyone know if there is specific drivers written for Knoppix/Debian for this card?

Would I have to perform a HD install of Knoppix to install the drivers for the card? or is there a way to get it (the NIC) running without doing the HD install?

Here is the output from the lspci -v command (note 00:08.0 - network controller):
