During boot i get this error

During boot i get an error that says:

MP-BIOS bug:8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC

I can use the cheat coad "failsafe" but then nothing works. any help would me appreciated. thanks Jim

Try knoppix noapic at boot prompt.
