cd not detected after burn and first use

im haveing a problem after the first time i use knoppix and then go back to windows xp the cd dose not show up in my computer if any one knows why this could be let me know i have checked cd for scraches

That seems to sound like a hardware issue, if you could post more information, then it might be easier to diaganose it . I am sorry, but knoppix shouldn't do this, could you give your system specs...
