USB Harddrive Support?

I'm thinking about getting a USB 2.0/1.1 harddrive, either a Lacie, Maxtor or WD drive. It will be connected on an old Celeron 333 System to a USB 1.1 port.

How well are these drives supported under Linux/Knoppix?
I suppose it's all dependant on the drive supporting the usb-storage standard?, but it's hard to find any info on the manufacturers site about that.
So please, if someone could recommend a disk or tell me wich ones will work under Knoppix for sure i'd really appreciate it.

At least all Maxtor drives listed there are reported working...
