input Devices not Working!!!

Help....When I load knoppix from my hard drive it says the scdsk faild please repair manually....and when it gives me the root I cant type anything...I press the buttons but nothing happens! When i load knoppix from the cd it say that two errors ocurred during the hradware configureing step...
What do I do!?!
