hi everyone, i want to connect to the internet using a speedstream adsl usb modem and bell sympatico basic dsl. Is all of this suppported in knoppix? if not, how can I install rp-pppoe (linux dsl connection software) to the knoppix cd? thx :lol:

oh yeah, rp ppoe stands for roaring penguing ppoe (linux adsl connection software)

There's a thread here (http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=118) with a script you may want to try with a link to the required driver. How exactly is your connection setup? Around here with the modems that just connect to the NIC not through the usb they tell you that you need the PPPoE but you can get a connection by just booting the CD and using the DHCP that is scanned for and found no connection or password is needed you may want to check into this if your setup allows it.

efficient networks speedstream adsl modem, connect to bell sympatico adsl using a usb connection and a username and password. How can I use the program roaring penguing pppoe since I cannot install it to the knoppix cd?
