Intel(R) PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter

Not showing up.

Please, any suggestions on where to start to
get it rcognized, or if it even works with knoppix
will be greatly appreciated. Im pretty new to linux
in general but have some experience with versions
of mandrake and redhat. But ive never tried to setup
a wireless card. Any help is good. Thanks.

unless i am mistaken, this is the wireless chip in the centrino chipset, for which intel promises but has not yet delivered linux drivers.

In this case they are suffering from poor management, can't seem to make up their mind.
Sign this to make them realize how silly they are being.

(I was going to get a centrino based laptop but I changed my mind since it looked like the wlan part would not get linux drivers in the near future)

to the wlan problem. Linuxant.com has a driver called Driverloader that make it possibe to use your Intel wlan card. But, itīs not for free, just a 30-days free licens.

I havenīt tried it with Knoppix yet but it works very good with SUSE 9.0 and my Centrino HP NX-7010 laptop.

There was a Slashdot article about this not long ago. Goto their site and search and you should find some more info on what's going on. IIRC there was one other way to get it working non-natively.

MorskNorsk is probably referring to the ndiswrapper (http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/) project...
