i have a computer 60 gig hd computer with 4 partion.
c:this is where window200 is install
d:mostly software
e: download files
f=the linux

since i'm messing with linux and i have installed knoppix into the hd f..
how do i backup drive c/d/e into an external fire wire hard drive hard drive?

and i have created 3 partion on the external firewire hard drive.lets call these drive h/i/j
how do i move all the files from
c->h c drive will go into drive h
d->i
e->j

oh and when i need to restore drive c to its original form. all i want to do is move all the files from drive h back on drive c.. and hopefully it have it boot back into 2000k with all of its software and drive the way it was.

well this is what i want to do is it

I'd suggest that you repartition your firewire hd with one huge partition, boot knoppix, mount your fw hd and then use partimage (somewhat norton ghost-ish) to store images of your three windows partitions onto the fw hd.
BTW, it is always a good idea to keep your backup media offsite, in case your house burns down or something alike;-)
