mySQL drivers for Kword

Just wondering if the latest Knoppix has koffice/sql support. I'm still using 3.2 and kword doesn't seem to have the sql plugins. I tried copying the qt sql plugins from a debian system to knoppix, but kword still can't find the sql drivers. I don't know if this is a case of qt and/or kword not being built with sql support, or if there is more than just the qt plugins needed to make it work. The goal being to use kword's mail-merge function to access a mysql database and populate a form with data from the database. When going into kword's tools:mailmerge:open existing:qtmysql menu, no driver shows up in the dialog for selecting the database, username, password, etc. It ends with an abort and 'no driver' message.
Any info or thoughts are greatly appreciated!
