display problem

i have a problem with my display
i load Knoppix from a CD and when it gets to the 'initializing perhiperials'(don't knw how to spell) it creates a box at the bottom of the screen

my default OS is windows xp pro
my video card is integrated and i don't think there's a driver for Linux

Try typing "knoppix 2" at the boot prompt (that should try bring it up in text-only mode where you could run some checks) Another thing to try at the boot prompt is "failsafe".

is the boot prompt where it has the Knoppix logo at the near top

i tried the CD on another computer and it showed boot options which is F2

on my computer i can't see that

i did the F2 thing and it booted and there we go
no box!

also while in failsafe boot
is the internet and printer online

i tried to use the internet and it kept giving me errors
