My cable modem gets detected, netcardconfig works and assigns it a ip, gateway, etc...

ifconfig shows me same info i have on windows (winipcfg)
But i canīt browse or ping anything.

I'm a newbie when it comes to Linux, is there something like a "Start connection" in there :)

Or is it just my modem that's not supported? It's a 3Com Homeconnect USB Cable

It may not be suppported. Or it may be that you have a userID and password to connect to your DSL via PPPoE. There is a PPPoE config utility under K > KNOPPIX > Configure > Internet.

i'm not using DSL, it's a Cable Modem, i don't need username or password to connect.

Maybe the modem isn't fully supported, but it's weird, because when i use netcardconfig, the modem connection ligth flashes (indicating it is comunicating with the pc) and it configures IP's, etc automatically

If it does that it means pc-modem communication working ok.

I can ping my brodcast IP, and it works, but every other IP doesn't (apart from my IP, but that always works, even without a modem :) )

And it does get online to get an ip, doesn't it?

Seems, like it has some kind of firewall active blocking it. Or it may just be that the hardware is not 100 % compatible, and that would be lame ( i'm sick of booting windows just to browse and check email :D )
