Blank Boot Screen

Hey everyone,
My problems are similar to the ones from the following posts:

I am able to access the intro screen, but typing anything after that such as knoppix xmodule=ati|radeon|, and various other combinations and additions does not solve my problem of a blank screen.

My system is a Dell Inspiron 5150 with a Radeon 9000 Mobility. I have tried all the xmodule combinations such as vesa, fbdev, etc.

I am still continuing to get an error. I would appreciate any suggestions :)

Seems like you are having the smp kernel problem.
This should fix it:

(which unfortunaltely involves getting another iso image and burning it to cd first)

However, Moustache claims he can now boot the latest Knoppix using only the nosmp cheat code:

That doesn't work for me (I have another machine though) but he says he's upgraded the BIOS so you might want to try doing that first. :-)

Thanks :) I'll try the second method first and if that doesn't work, I'll use your first method second. Haha.
