hello everybody. i've been scouring these threads and i haven't found any that address my problem perfectly, or anything that i could adapt to my needs. i have a standard dial-up internet connection and i've gotten my knoppix hdinstall to do that perfectly. but i am networked to a winxp box and i need to share my internet connection, but i have no clue how. i'm sure it's something simple, i just can't seem to get it. any help is appreciated. thanks.

Your knoppix box would need to run dhcp and nat and do some dns forwarding/scahing. Whyt not set it up the other way around? It's much easier that way.

If you have an ethernet connection between the machines, set up the cables like this...

Web-->WinXP-->Knoppix

Now get on XP, go to Control Panel>Network and Dial-up Connections
Right click your ethernet card and click "Properties", select the "Sharing" tab and check the box next to "Enable Internet Connection Sharing for this connection". In the drop-down box select you modem. Click OK
