I've drafted a HOWTO for obtaining, patching and compiling the driver source and installing RT2400-based 802.11b PCI/PCMCIA adaptors on Linux.

They are generic instructions that should apply to any version of Linux. If you use them with Knoppix, you would probably want to compile them with a hard disk install...and then you may be able to load the module from HD, diskette or CD after booting the live CD Knoppix.

I don't work for Minitar, I just use a device based on the RT2400 chipset from Ralink in Taiwan. They have now open sourced their linux driver and will not be providing any further support for it. That must come from the user community.

The cards are cheap.....and you can now get them to work.
