hi,
iīm trying to connect from knoppix to a win98 machine. some hours ago it worked but i canīt reconstruct what i did.
the following is what i did and what happened:

--
root@ttyp0[knoppix]# mkdir /mnt/win98_folder_f
root@ttyp0[knoppix]# smbmount //10.1.1.252/f /mnt/win98_folder_f
3589: session request to 10.1.1.252 failed (Called name not present)
3589: session request to 10 failed (Called name not present)
3589: session request to *SMBSERVER failed (Called name not present)
SMB connection failed
root@ttyp0[knoppix]# smbmount //10.1.1.252/f /mnt/win98_folder_f -o username=data
3602: session request to 10.1.1.252 failed (Called name not present)
3602: session request to 10 failed (Called name not present)
3602: session request to *SMBSERVER failed (Called name not present)
SMB connection failed

What does the error message mean? Would be nice if you could help me,

check the ip of the 98 machine again.
but don't check it using the internet configurations check it using
http://ipchicken.com/
