I am new to this forum so Hi to All, I am looking forward to using KNOPPIX.
Well, I am a SE that is using a company laptop and I wanted to ask if when you run KNOPPIX do ANY local HD files get updated AND/OR when you boot back from the original OS do any files get left behind in the host machine?
thanks you in advance,
:D

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: No hard drives are mounted by default when you are running from the cd, so there is no way for files to get on your drives. If you go poking around on them, then it's anybody's guess if you will leave files. Knoppix itself won't write any.

What is an SE?

hmmm, you may/will get atimes modified, that is there will be "timestamps" on the files you have opened... some antivirus programes notice this and complain some, but mostly it is ok.
