Hi,

Am loving Knoppix, both as a hd-install on my work laptop and as a live cd anywhere else. Have one problem, though...

When I dial up with KPPP or wvdial, everything goes great and my ppp is up and running. Trouble is, no browsers seem to be able to find their way out to the net. I read somewhere that I need to change the default route from eth0 to ppp0? Can someone please explain how to do this? I'm sure it's not hard but I just have no idea how to do it.

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Eh? Do you mean you're getting "unable to resolve" messages?

If so, you need to set the Domain Name Server(s) (DNS) of your ISP (preferably: I guess any DNS would do.......) in wvdial or Kppp's set up dialogue.

Nope, it tries for about 3 minutes then says "unable to find www.blahblah.com" in mozilla, konqueror fails much quicker (about 5 secs). Just as though you haven't connected at all. I have used about ten other distros in the last three years and never had this problem.

you can try: knoppix nodhcp at boot option, then in X you can run pppoeconf.
hope this help you.
