what's the difference between 'sudo knx-install' and 'knx-install' ?

Nothing other than permissions. If you're in a root console (like with Ctrl-Alt-F1) you can just type knoppix-installer. If you're logged into the console as the normal knoppix user you have to include the sudo in front to run it as root.
