x-server?

Hi... when installing nvidia graphics drivers it says I need to cose a running x-server?...

can anyone help me with this pls as I have no idea what this is on about :shock:

At the console just before you start the install use /etc/init.d/kdm stop to stop kdm and the X server then run it and after making the rest of the changes then use restart on the end of the kdm line or if you want to do it automatically go to Kano's script page (http://www.kano.mipooh.net/) and get the version you want for the nvidia install scripts make it executable (chmod +x script.sh) then run it (./script.sh).
