Problems in writing to USB memory stick

I try to copy files, from the disc or from directories created by me on the root, to the memory stick but the knoppix tells me to verify if i have write permissions. How can i change this ?? someone hep me!! :roll:

Knoppix will mount the device read-only by default. As root, run remountrw /dev/sda# where # is the device number. What's the trick to getting knoppix to mount the usb device? I've been having mixed results with my cruzer. I got it to mount today under /dev/sda/ and couldn't reproduce it after a reboot. I'm actually running Kanotix now. Hope this helps.

right-click on SDA1 (could also be Sdb1 .. ,it starts with Sd )icon on your desktop ,and choose 'change read/wriet mode'.
