Well, hello, i have A P4 pc, With redhat valhalla and winxp installed, I have been trying to run knoppix 3.3, i've downloaded it, I have winrar 3.30 installed and i have decompressed the iso file, i burned it.

then i tryed tu run the knoppix, The BIos configuration Was OK, It boots from cdrom floppy and hd, but the knoppix did not started, then i made a boot floppy disk with rawrite, doing this:

1."Enter Disk Image source File Name: boot.img"
2."Enter Target Diskette Image: A"

It made the boot diskette, and it worked, but the system didnt started, it asked, Source image dile something like that.

What Was wrong :S i made te boot diskette with windows....

check your boot sequence. you prolly dont even have 2 make that boot floppy. You might have the hd as the first boot device, if so, change it to cd then hd, or floppy, cd, hd, or whatever you want, just put something infront of the hd.

I got it all right, first, the cdrom, then the floppy, then hd

You shouldn't (and shouldn't need to) uncompress it. The iso is an image of exactly what (and exactly all that) needs to go on the CD.

Good instructions here:

http://www.linuxiso.org/viewdoc.php/howtoburn.html

alternatively, valhalla has far better iso tools than Windoze.

cd to the directory where the iso is and do:

cdrecord -scanbus

mine outputs:

scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) 'HL-DT-ST' 'RW/DVD GCC-4120B' '2.01' Removable CD-ROM

(which is obviously the device I need, but the number may be different on your system)

then pop in medium and do:

cdrecord dev=0,0,0 -v knoppixWhatEver.iso

that's it.
