Hello

I was just wondering, that a gui net hdd install prog would be great.
So you could do a netinstall of debian while browsing the net or chatting with your friends. That way you don't have to download a new knoppix release if you want to do a hdd-install, you just download new packages from net.
It would beat any debian net-installer.

This sounds interesting, but could you please explain it a bit more ? I don't understand what you want, yet.

A gui installer with which you can download and install all the packages from sources added by you. So you won't be restricted by the package selection of knoppix.... knoppix has too many packages that you won't use if it's installed on your computer. A net-installer would be great for all the linux noobies- you can see what you are going to install and get the latest of everything you want to install.

Hope the post isn't too messy.

Hi martig,

Thanks for you ideas. Keep up the enthusiasm to
help others.

There is a KNOPPIX related project that my interrest you.

It is not directed for hard drive installed KNOPPIX
but the concepts are interesting.

With one klik (click) new packages can be added
to a CD booted KNOPPIX or some related remasters.

One feature is the philosophy that all added files
are put in one folder at home/knoppix. Delete the folder
and you have uninstalled -- except currently the
menu has a link.
