View Full Version : Gnome Meeting - works on old Knoppix 3.0 HD/inst, not v3.3

Many of you might already know that Gnome Meeting doesn't work on the current v3.3. I've seen it mentioned, on other sites, that it will work if the ALSA cheatcode is used but that doesn't work here in the Compaq iPaq desktops( 810 MoBo w/AC97 audio )...

Here's the interesting part, a desktop PC running Knoppix v3.0( HD installed and apt-get updated ) does work and it's not running ALSA. I've even updated GnomeMeeting to the latest version( like KNX v3.3 ) and it still works. So, it looks like it's either related to the OSS/Audio drivers of the v3.0 kernel( 2.4.21 ), a gnome gconf configuration issue, or gnome lib issues.

Does anybody have any clues:?:

My significant-other is out on travel and phone bills are killing us. If we can get Gnome Meeting working, it'll really help out since she has access to a broadband connected PC and has the Knoppix v3.3 CDROM. TIA
