I am a newbie to all the linux stuff which is why I recently installed a second hard drive to play around with some basic linux stuff.

I have the bootable knoppix cd, and can't seem to find how to install it on the hard drive instead of just booting linux from the cd.

Taxious,

Hi there. Your second hard drive is most-likely going to be labled hdb, and so you'll want to create some partitions on hdb for linux then. You can do this when you execute the 'sudo knoppix-installer' from a term window, after you have Knoppix booted properly.

You can see the many posts about how to install to HDD in the HOWTO section of the 'Docs' menu above, or you can reference posts like mine to help you get along.

(e.g.: http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8627)

Let us know how it goes & good luck!
